The Noughties: A confusing time for Fashion

Looking back at the fashion from the 00s, it was a very strange time. So many trends all over the shop ,it was like a mash up decade. At the time obviously, the styles were extremely popular ,but I cannot understand why (low rise jeans!!).Unclear on the exact fashion movements of this decade, I will briefly talk about the most popular trends of the 00s.

First of all, low rise jeans, low rise everything to be honest. Combined with crop tops, no outfit was incomplete without the sighting of a  midriff, usually with belly piercings.

Camouflage and cargo pants were popular during the noughties. Jackets, tops, skirts and trousers all camouflage print and embellished with rhinestones were staple wardrobe items, alongside cargo pants and the unnecessary amounts of pockets!

Dresses over jeans was another trend that celebs loved, sporting the combo on various occasions. This coincides with the popularity of jeggings/leggings and the lengthy tunics that were always sold on high street shops. Most legging style outfits were incomplete with the classic ballerina flats.

Velour tracksuits and UGGS were very big ,guys loved layering polo shirts and with Justin Bieber introduced towards the end of 00s, the cardigan with a t-shirt underneath style exploded.

Who could forget the double denim of 00s though? Britney and Justin and B*Witched were big favourites of that trend.

Looking at hairstyles the bob was in ,due to Victoria Beckham, in company with very thin eyebrows. Hair gel was a mans best friend with cemented spikes everywhere.

Overall I know that this decade is one that I would not want the fashion trends to be repeated in the future.

Finally my cousin Amy, was able to help give insight into the questionable fashion of this decade:
